Landscape with Path and Pollard Willows - by Vincent van Gogh
This drawing was created in March 1888 using pencil, pen and brown ink on wove paper. This is another piece of work demonstrating the influence of Japanese art on Van Gogh.
Japan was constantly in Van Gogh's thoughts while he was making this series of drawings on wove paper while he was staying in Arles. He mentioned to Theo that these sheets would be very suitable to
make sketchbooks with 6 or 10 or 12 like those books of original Japanese drawings. I very much want to make such a book for Gauguin, and one for Bernard."
